We’re looking for a Senior HR Business Partner working from any of our EU offices!

Job description

At Ultimo, we believe people do their best work when they feel seen, supported, and inspired. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a people-minded, action-driven HR Business Partner who’s excited about both the human and the business side of HR. Someone who can jump into the day-to-day and also zoom out to shape the bigger picture.

This is a hybrid role, enabling hands-on collaboration, visibility, and real impact across our international organization. You’ll work closely with our Senior HR Business Partner and a passionate HR team.

We’ve already made big steps over the past few years but we’re not done improving. There’s room (and support!) for you to take ownership, lead practical projects, and help us bring our employee experience to the next level.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be hands-on with several key HR themes that shape the employee experience and contribute to a positive, high-performing workplace:

  • Supporting and advising managers on day-to-day HR topics and being a trusted sparring partner

  • Driving improvement in onboarding and the wider employee journey

  • Helping to develop or strengthen performance management (experience with tools is a plus)

  • Managing or coordinating absence cases and reintegration support, in close alignment with external health partners

  • Contributing to a strong and consistent approach to global health & safety and wellbeing

  • Staying connected to trends and tools (like AI or smart HR tech) that can help the team work more efficiently and insightfully

  • Bringing a people-first, process-smart mindset to everything from feedback culture to learning programs

  • You don’t need to be an expert in all these areas already, what matters most is that you’re curious, hands-on, and eager to learn and grow

Why Join Us

  • A people-first role where you’ll have real ownership and visibility

  • A tight-knit, informal team where collaboration and impact go hand-in-hand

  • A hybrid working setup with Tuesdays on-site (if working from The Netherlands), Wednesdays remote, and flexibility beyond that

  • A chance to lead and shape meaningful projects, onboarding is waiting for your magic!

  • Supportive leadership and a team that’s always open to fresh ideas and improvements

What we practically offer

  • Permanent Contract & Competitive Salary aligned with market standards, including an 8% holiday allowance

  • Bonus Incentive Scheme based on company and individual performance

  • Hybrid Working Model allowing flexibility between remote work and office presence

  • Career Development Opportunities with tailored learning paths and leadership exposure

  • 25 Vacation Days with the option to purchase an additional 5 days

  • Pension Scheme (50/50 Contribution)

  • Fixed Monthly Allowances for phone, home office, and internet expenses

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Day for voluntary work

Job requirements

Who You Are

  • You’re someone who gets excited about improvements, from refining a policy to overhauling a process that just isn’t working anymore.

  • You’re practical and human at the same time. You ask the right questions (even the difficult ones), and you enjoy making things better for both people and the business

  • Maybe you’re a mid-level HR professional ready for your next big step. Or maybe you’re a senior who still loves getting involved in the day-to-day.

  • You have a pragmatic mindset and a love for real, measurable impact

  • And experience in larger organizations, and the motivation to bring that knowledge into a more agile, fast-moving setting

  • You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, people trust you, and you know how to build relationships across the org

  • You also have solid organization and project management skills,  you keep things moving and know how to get others on board

  • You are fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus

  • If you're based abroad (e.g. UK), you’re open to travelling to Nunspeet at least once a month

We’re especially looking for someone who brings

  • A background or strong interest in Learning & Development . You get excited by helping people grow and thrive.

  • A fresh perspective on onboarding, this is a major focus for us right now. We’re ready for change, and we’re looking to you to help drive it.

  • Comfort with health & safety and absenteeism topics, you’ll support managers and act as the link between them and our occupational health service. We don’t need an expert, just someone coordinating it all!
