The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Consultant, with a passion for modern HR, to join our HR Services team at Ultimo, part of IFS. This is an operational/tactical role with a strong focus on payroll accuracy, efficient processes, and delivering high-quality HR support.
As one of our key team members, you’ll be responsible for making sure payroll runs smoothly across multiple countries, handling day-to-day HR matters with confidence, and supporting our business with pragmatic, reliable HR solutions. You’ll report directly to the Head of HR Services.
This is a role for someone who’s been around the block in HR, thrives in a fast-paced, international environment, and brings a no-nonsense, can-do mindset to the table.
What You’ll Do
Take ownership of international payroll and HR services: accurate, timely, and fully aligned with HR data and local requirements
Be a go-to sparring partner for managers and employees on all operational HR matters
Answer questions on contracts, policies, absences, onboarding/offboarding, and more
Drive process improvements and automation to make our HR operations more efficient and scalable
Support the implementation of our next-gen HR system (key user role)
Collaborate with Finance and external payroll providers
Ensure compliance with employment law, audit standards, and company policies
Monitor and analyse HR data for reporting (weekly, monthly, ESG)
Contribute to projects like policy updates, system transitions, and international HR harmonization

Job requirements
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of hands-on HR experience, including 3+ years in HR operations and proven international payroll experience (Netherlands + at least one of: Germany, France, Sweden)
Solid knowledge of HR processes and employment law across countries
You’re thorough and curious, you dig deeper to understand the real question, while keeping things moving and focused
Strong eye for detail, you take pride in error-free payroll and clean employee data
Experienced with HR systems and payroll software; system migration experience is a plus
Comfortable working with data (Excel/Power BI) and reporting
Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus
Flexible, stress-resistant, full-time available, and always ready to jump in where needed
A real team player who knows when to take initiative and when to collaborate
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or similar through work experience
HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PDL) are a bonus
Experience in international and/or matrixed organizations
Comfortable working in a hybrid, international team setup
